Satie-Debussy ’Gymnopédie’ No. 3 - Charles Gerhardt conducts

Erik Satie wrote three gently atmospheric piano pieces with the title ’Gymnopédie’ and Claude Debussy orchestrated the first and third of them. We hear No. 3 in a performance by the National Philharmonic conducted by Charles Gerhardt. He was a long-time RCA producer who also produced and conducted a great many albums for Reader’s Digest. This track comes from a CD on the ’Menuet’ label with all due acknowledgements.
