Advancing with Watercolor: Looking for the Big Shape “Fish Shacks“
This is a video done as a supplement to a watercolor class taught by Gary Tucker in Boston. This video demonstrates how an artist looks at their motif as a composite of shapes and uses these shapes to bring strength and nuance to their painting. The painting is done in 2 colors ultramarine blue and Burnt Sienna to introduce the advantage of a limited palette and the creative mindset that comes about as a result.
This video shows haw the artist “sees“ their subject in terms of shapes and exaggerates the connections of shapes to create a more vital and engaging image
