Another new song and another new world to explore! The Bendy series’ mixture of golden era animation mixed with a unique blend of horror and visual style has impressed me ever since the original beta chapters of the first game and Dark Revival was a big step forward in making the game’s world more serious, fleshed (inked?) out and putting in some really memorable things I just had to explore in song. Primarily, ’Regular Demons’ is centred around the cartoon Bendy’s journey to understand his place within in the Cycle, fighting off the discouraging voices in his ears from his true self as well as heeding the words of other beings that inhabit the dark halls of the studio. I chose to go for a mixture of both upbeat electronic instrumentation, but utilised a lot of the sound of the 20s/30s big band era to really make it pop in the same rhythmic way these old cartoons were made. Of course, this song wouldn’t be anything close to how good I think it sounds without the incredible efforts of all of my wonderful collaborators. I’ve admired all of these people from afar for a long time and it’s been a pleasure to work with them, some for the first time, others welcoming them back!
