Asmik Grigorian sings the Cio-Cio-San‘s aria ‘Un bel di vedremo’ from Madama Butterfly

The Lithuanian soprano, Asmik Grigorian, was born in 1981, in a family of famous singers Irena Milkevičiūtė and Gegam Grigorian. In 1999 she joined the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in singing class, where she completed master’s studies in 2006. She was a founding member of Vilnius City Opera and has twice been awarded the Golden Stage Cross (the highest award for singers in Lithuania), in 2005 for her debut as Violetta and in 2010 for her performance as Mrs. Lovett Sweeney Todd. She won the Young Female Singer prize at the International Opera Awards (2016). Asmik Grigorian sang in the Lithuanian opera in Vilnius, in the Latvian National Opera in Riga, at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, with the BBC Philarmonic Orchestra and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, in Operhaus Köln, at the Komische Oper Berlin, Oper Graz, and Staatsoper Hamburg among others.
