1826 Waltz / Valse from the T.B. Dance Book - 2nd National Championship of Historical Dance France

This waltz comes from the TB Dance Book of 1826 published by the Pendragon Press in 2000. We performed it at the French National Championship of Historical Dance in july 2015 organized by The costumes are from 1826 and the music, inspired by Mozart’s Laendlers, is the one from the dance manual played on a 1790 pianoforte by Frederic Lafage. We here give our own interpretation of what we can read in the dance manual. The steps come from Gourdoux-Daux and Blanchard’s dance french dance manuals from the 1820’s.
