Explosions and gunfire were heard in the Sur district of Diyarbakir, Monday, which marked the 47th day of curfews imposed by the Turkish government. Artillery and serial machine gun fire could be heard throughout the city. Streets surrounding the city centre of Sur district were mostly empty. Armoured vehicles of the Turkish military were deployed between army positions and the city centre and the police were controlling people on the street.
