Ambrose Slade ~ Genesis ~ Slade In England

This footage ( I think from a company called Eyemak will be corrected if erroneous!) was filmed on December 15th 1968 at the relatively newly opened Euston station in London, the pride of British Rail. At the time of filming the band were still ’The ’Nbetweens’ and the name change to ’Ambrose Slade was a little while off yet. This film was shot for inclusion on a promotional reel by the Phillips record label to promote new talent in their stable, for many years but there was never a hint that any copy would still survive. There were rumours of course, but I for one was unable to get sight of the fabled film belonging to Eric Francis. So when it was announced that this footage existed there was more than a ripple of excitement amongst Slade fans when after 40 odd years a grainy copy was unearthed by Gary Jordan following his dogged research and dare I say perseverance.
