High-Speed Imaging of Shotgun Pattern Development

Using our large view shadowgraph system, we imaged a 12 gauge shotgun’s pattern development at varied distances. With this system, we can see fluid dynamics that are invisible to the naked eye. Coupling that with our high-speed cameras allows us to see exactly how the shot pattern develops, and it also shows us shockwaves coming off of pellets or groups of pellets.
