Balenciaga Figures de Style

From September 16th to 17th, In celebration of European Heritage Days, Balenciaga will present The Woman Behind The Dress, an exhibition that uniquely displays a selection of Cristóbal Balenciaga’s work. The Couture pieces shown were originally made for royal family members, socialites, close friends of the House, and artists, including actressIngrid Bergman, choreographer Agnes de Mille, White House rose garden designer Bunny Mellon, and philanthropist Mona von Bismarck—known in her day as the “best-dressed woman in the world“—each of whom radiated a singular elegance. The Woman Behind The Dress reveals a particular sensitivity to the specialness of an individual’s morphology and the way in which personality can be expressed through clothing.
