Game Recap: Penguins vs. Islanders, Game 3 () | A TOTAL Team Effort
Playing the Islanders? Always tough. Winning in their building, especially in the playoffs? Even tougher. That was the challenge which awaited the Penguins as they ventured to Long Island for Game 3. The Penguins got off to a good start once again, with Kris Letang scoring just over two minutes into the contest. That would be the lone goal in the opening period. Oh, how things changed... Mayfield scored for the Islanders in the 2nd period, and that goal was answered by yet another tally from Jeff Carter, followed by a pretty shot from Jason Zucker to give the Penguins the lead once again. Clutterbuck tied it for New York, then a huge scrum erupted, which sent all of the players who started the game for Pittsburgh (sans Tristan Jarry) to the penalty box. Out of that, the Islanders got a power play, on which Beauvillier scored. Shortly after, Pittsburgh got a power play of their own, with many of the usual contributors still in the penalty box.
