Tesla PMD 85-2A: Part 1

Okay, just a quick peek inside ;) First, checking out the Tesla PMD 10 power supply. Not sure if it’s working - the green power LED doesn’t light so not sure if it requires a load or not ... but not keen on connecting an unknown power supply to an unknown computer. Then pulling apart the machine itself. You have to remove the ROM module ... carefully ... because there’s an additional fifth screw under the connector that requires removal before the top case will come off. And, for a change, the keyboard can be easily disconnected from the motherboard ... thank you. Also ... a lot of the chips are socketed! Nice. The 64Kbit DRAMs ... standard Soviet К565РУ5Г ... are gorgeous! There are some additional Soviet parts ... loudly proclaiming СДЕЛАНО В СССР (MADE IN USSR) ... they ran out of 8255 clones in Slovakia? Will give the machine a good clean, including stripping & lubricating the key switch mechanisms, then figure out the power & video pin outs, then hook it up to a modern PSU and see what happens. If you’re thinking of complaining about the flag ... refer to the video description here:
