Burroughs and Brion Gysin. ’No. 9’ undoubtedly refers to 9 Rue Git-le-Coeur, the legendary Beat Hotel in Paris where William Burroughs, Gysin, Gregory Corso and many others lived and creatively cross-pollinated during the late 1950’s. Images from that time and place appear in the film.
