Kindred McCune - Tuffy Tufferson

Our son, Kindred Lee McCune, died on April 3, 2012. He wrote this song, Tuffy Tufferson, about his Grandfather, Lee Goodwin. Although the song has few lyrics, Kindred captured the essence of his grandfather, a hard working, kind, and very humble man. As a child Kindred was always impressed with the way Lee could light his cigarette in the wind. Kindred wrote this song at a time in his life when he had come out of drug rehab and for the first time in about 10 years was truly re-connecting with his family. The Hank Williams tag at the end of the song reflects this “gonna tuck my worries underneath my arm and get right back to my pappy’s farm” represents what Kindred was doing the last 8 or 9 years of his life. We were all happy to have Kindred “come home”.
