And Mayweather believes Hatton has a much bigger role to play outside the ring - that of grooming young fighters to become future champions in his new guise as a promoter. Saying: “My advice to Ricky Hatton is that his career is over, I think he should have stopped fighting after our fight,“ “He worked his whole life to get to that point, and he came up short. “It’s hard to keep gaining a lot of weight, losing a lot weight, to stay at that level, the wear and and tear on your body, so the best thing for Ricky Hatton I think is to try and go out and get all the young champions in the UK and get them under Hatton Promotions, and build your company to the best of your ability. “Boxing is a brutal sport, it’s like being a cop - one shot and it ends your whole career. “I don’t think Ricky should fight again. I wouldn’t fight him again, even at Wembley. It would be like picking on a guy that we call ’gun-shot, gun-shot’. “Once you’ve been knocked out in the way he was by me, it’s always in the back of your mind that it can happen again. His head won’t be the same.“
