Horror and destruction! Super Typhoon Hinnamnor reaches South Korea

The strongest typhoon to hit South Korea in years hit its southern region on Tuesday, dumping three feet of rain, destroying roads and downing power lines, leaving tens of thousands of homes without power before weakening at sea. Typhoon Hinnamnor passed by the tourist island of Jeju and hit the mainland near the port city of Busan before blowing into the waters between the Korean peninsula and Japan. Hinnamnor’s winds have weakened to 115 kilometers (71 miles) per hour and the typhoon is expected to downgrade to an overnight tropical cyclone as it moves northeast between Russia and the island of Hokkaido, in northern Japan, the South Korean meteorological agency said. Damage appeared most severe in the southern city of Pohang. Storm-damaged cars – their windows shattered or their trunks open – were strewn on the roads like rubbish, while an entire villa with a two-story swimming pool was uprooted from the ground and swept away by flash floods. Troops were deployed to help with rescue and restora
