Tribute to beauty of Gothic Architecture

Notre Dame in memoriam ~ Even though I am a pagan I believe Gothic cathedrals are the best buildings in the term Gothic was applied as a pejorative in Italy because the work was associated with the “Germanic barbarians“ (actually French) who invented it - comparing them to Goths was to imply they were part of the Germanic cultural sphere and not the Roman. Giorgio Vasari used the term “barbarous German style“ in his 1550 Lives of the Artists to describe it. Gothic varied regionally such that English, German and French Gothic are distinct styles. To me, English Gothic cathedrals are the perfect architectural expression of the Northern soul. They remind me of forests and trees. In this video tribute to the burned Notre Dame cathedral, I show the beauty of four English cathedrals; York Minster, Wells cathedral, Exeter cathedral, and Winchester cathedral.
