Harz Mountain Railway - February 2014 Part One

This video results from my first, but most definitely not the last, visit to the wonderful Harz Mountains in Germany. It is not quite the video I was hoping to upload as a dreaded ’card error’ message appeared on my camera screen after two days and it appeared I had lost all the footage from those days due to a corrupted SD card. I abandoned plans to visit other parts of the network including the Selketalbahn and set about recreating some of the lost shots concentrating on the Brockenbahn which runs to the top of the Brocken, the highest peak in the Harz Mountains at 1125 metres. However in the course of uploading this lengthy video I have now managed to recover the lost files with a free program called Photo Rec, which I can highly recommend, and these will form the basis of another video featuring a number of special trains from the Saturday and some night scenes at Wernigerode shed together with additional Brockenbahn and Harzquerbahn scenes. So, this video covers the journey from Wernigerode to the Brocken by way of Drei Annen Hohne and Schierke and includes onboard as well as lineside footage. See for the Harz 2015 video
