Dai Greene wins gold for Wales in 400m Hurdle at Commonwealth 2010

David Dai Greene of Wales gives a tough competition to Louis Jacobus Van Zyl of the Republic of South Africa while beating him to win gold in 400m Hurdles men’s race. Welshman won in as Van Zyl desperately tried to make up the deficit following the final hurdle. Greene held on to record Wales’s first gold of these Games, completing a memorable year for the 24-year-old from Llanelli. Greene said: “I knew he (Van Zyl) was the guy to watch out for but I always felt I had an extra gear to switch to it when I wanted to and I did in the home straight.“ David “Dai“ Greene is a Welsh hurdler who specializes in the 400 meters hurdles, competing internationally for both Wales and Great Britain.
