Jared Tallent wins gold in the 20km walk | Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games

In his second Commonwealth Games appearance, Jared Tallent OAM conquered the streets of the Indian capital to win the gold medal in the men’s 20km walk ahead of teammate Luke Adams. The then reigning Olympic bronze medallist in the 20km walk and silver medallist in the 50km walk from the Beijing 2008 Games came into the event as the favourite and did not disappoint winning by over 13 seconds. Two years later Tallent went on to win gold in the 50km walk at the London 2012 Olympics. Tallent retired in early 2021 as the most successful Australian able-bodied male track athlete, after winning a total of 15 medals at major events during his career.
