Ben-Gvir accuses Netanyahu of ’whitewashing’ Gaza deal

Israel will only agree to a ceasefire deal that includes the elimination of Hamas, Binyamin Netanyahu said as he faced a rebellion over a proposed deal to end the war in Gaza. Speaking to a foreign and security affairs committee in the Knesset, the prime minister said “claims that we agreed to a ceasefire without our conditions being met are incorrect”. He reiterated that the primary aim of the war was “the elimination of Hamas”. Itamar Ben-Gvir, the national security minister, said he had still not been shown the proposal. He accused the prime minister of trying to “whitewash” the plan.
