Cynthia Sayer - Banjo Lesson Nugget #7: Playing Low & High
I tend to use the full range of the banjo when playing solos, however when accompanying, the banjo offers more support and bottom when playing on the lower end of the instrument. How high or low you play -- referring to pitch, not height from the ground -- is an aspect of musicality and taste that should be considered.
Played part of “Doin’ The New Low Down“ by Dorothy Fields & Jimmy McHugh
Sang & accompanied part of “Exactly Like You,“ also by Fields & McHugh
