ENVE G23 wheels review (part 2) – into the workshop, adding 32mm Pirelli Cinturato tubeless tyres
There’s a new set of ENVE G23 wheels for the Cervélo Caledonia project bike. For the sake of getting a close comparison to the Zipp 303s wheels that have covered 4,000km, we fitted Pirelli 32mm Cinturato tubeless tyres (as per the original build).
Here is the workshop session, in which Archie from Velofix in Rozelle, NSW adds the rim tape, sealant... and a few comments along the way.
NOTE: At the end, Archie says we saved some weight too... saying “almost a kilo“, but it’s not quite.
With the same tyres and rotors,an extra squirt of sealant (4 for ENVE, with the 23mm inner measurement for the rim, 3 for the Zipp 303s), and the same SRAM Force AXS wide 10-36t cassette, here are the complete wheel weights:
• ENVE G23 (front): 1,221g • Zipp 303s (front): 1,334g
• ENVE G23 (rear): 1,629g • Zipp 303s (front): 1,725g
= a saving of 209g.
