“Virtual Agronomist” is a domestic solution for managing the cultivation of plants on a city farm using artificial intelligence. There are no analogues in the world. The complex pre-programs parameters for controlling light, mortar unit, humidity: temperature, lighting, nutrients in the soil, etc. Sensors measure indicators and transmit large data to the server, where they are stored forever. The system reduces the risks of crop loss and poor-quality growth to 1%.
There are no insects in the closed module of the Greenbar city farm. This allows you to do without substrates: the agronomist does not need pest control. The system is also self-learning: it recognizes and records user errors and prevents other clients from repeating them.
Anna Vititina, executive director of Greenbar: “Despite the difficult global situation with energy, food and climate crises, Indonesia has become an exception and boasts a rapidly developing economy, as well as a period of political stability. A special innovative project is being developed for an Indonesian city. We plan to optimize urban spaces and occupy empty niches for cultivation, build living farms along the walls, and replace traditional landscaping with edible and commercially effective ones. This will be a new format, where every building is a plantation, and the entire city is a garden. This approach will be able to provide the population and tourists with fresh products, and will reduce delivery time and the number of spoiled products. Built-in farms bring their ecological contribution to urban spaces. If the equipment is located in a building, it receives increased environmental status. Our company meets 12 of the 17 UN sustainable development goals.”
Due to difficulties with logistics and high humidity in Indonesia, greens quickly deteriorate, according to statistics, 70% during transportation; difficulties arise with growing cucumbers, tomatoes and berries. The Greenbar approach, in which food is grown year-round where it is consumed, solves this problem. The technology is used for growing spicy and medicinal herbs, as well as plants from the Red Book. The growth rate does not depend on the time of day or year.
Yuri Saprykin, Vice President of the Skolkovo Foundation for Regional and International Development: “The Indonesian market is the largest in Southeast Asia. In terms of population, the country is second only to India and China. The key areas of technology development are agritech and smart cities. The Greenbar company will be able to occupy a large share of not only the Indonesian market, but also neighboring countries, since the company’s software is unique and technologically superior to its analogues. The solution is in demand in the region; requests for the Virtual Agronomist software are coming from other ASEAN countries and Korea.”
Indonesian investment company PT Agung Anugrah Investama plans to implement a large-scale network of vertical farms on the islands using the Greenbar solution. The cooperation agreement was signed by the company’s financial director Ramzan Iripkhanov.
