The Miners Strike - 1984

Remembering the 30th Anniversary of the miners great strike for jobs in the year of 84/85. A dedication to the men and women who fought not only for the right to work but in the pursuit of a better future, committed themselves to selfless determination in their fight to save their industry and ultimately their communities. On June 18th 1984 Britain witnessed some of the worst industrial violence the country has ever seen. The Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign are fighting for truth and justice for the miners who were victimised and falsely arrested by the police from many different forces during the picketing of the Orgreave Coking Plant in South Yorkshire on that summers day. 95 miners were arrested and charged with riot, an offence which carried the potential sentence of life imprisonment.
