Maasai Mara National reserve popularly known as The Mara is located in the South- West part of Kenya along the Great Rift Valley, approximately 224kms from the Capital City of Kenya, Nairobi. It is majorly known for the wildebeest migration which is listed among the seven wonders of the world. The movement occurs during the months of July and October from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. The migration is due to search of greener pastures. This is the best time to visit the reserve to experience the spectacular view. It is also known to be the home for the big Five i.e. The East African Lion, The African Elephant, The Black Rhino, The Cheater and The Leopard. The reserve is vast and hence it is difficult to find this animals at once. The Tour guides advocate for early morning game drives before the animals go for hunting and afternoon game drives when the animals are relaxing after the hunt.
