M4.5 Solar Flare - Sunspot 2159 (9/9/2014)

Region 2158 produced a long duration M4.5 solar flare this evening (9/9/2014) peaking at 00:29 UTC. The event was associated with Type II and Type IV radio emissions, along with a 10cm Radio Burst (Ten Flare) measuring 370 solar flux units and lasting 10 minutes. A coronal mass ejection (CME) is now visible in the latest LASCO C2 imagery and appears to an a partially Earth directed component. More to follow on
