Кантата о Сталине - Cantata about Stalin (Soviet Communist Song)

“Cantata about Stalin“ was written in 1938 by Soviet composer Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov. It was specially written to be performed by the Soviet Army Song and Dance Ensemble, also known as Alexandrov’s Choir. Joseph Stalin was personal friends with Alexandrov and strongly supported his artistic activities, tasking him with providing the musical setting for all national celebrations. Alexandrov received many awards for his composing and conducting achievements including the Order of the Red Star, the honorary title of National Artist of the USSR, the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Order of Lenin, and two State Stalin Prizes.
