AE Exercise: Wave Displaced Circle

This After Effects tutorial is an exercise to reverse engineer an animation that I have seen around the Internet (and hopefully I can find them and credit them). In recreating this, it becomes a great exercise on how to combine different effects that, on their own, have limited function. But, combined (like a massive Voltron of effects) they become very powerful. This is this the first of many exercises like this that I’d like to reconstruct.
