BobBlast #277 “Coffee Cups - Paint Everyday Objects.“ Welcome back to another BobBlast! You know how much I like sketchbooks! I have devoted several BobBlasts in the praise of sketchbooks. I use mine as a tool: not only do I journal about my art, I also sketch and paint in my sketchbook. A very cool thing to do is to really explore an artist you admire by looking in their sketchbook; for instance, I’ve learned a lot by looking at Richard Diebenkorn’s sketchbooks. (Title: Richard Diebenkorn: The Sketchbooks Revealed) His daily drawings were everyday observations, from complicated sketches of his studio sink to his cigarette butts in an ashtray, his eyeglasses, combs or a match.
