Steve Ovett, 2000m Oslo 1982

In an early season outing for Steve Ovett on 7th July 1982, just 7 months after a near career ending injury, he runs and wins a 2000m in Oslo in 4:. I think it was the UK record at the time, and was about a second faster than Coe’s time over the same distance a few weeks earlier in Bordeaux. Strangely enough they both beat Wessinghage in their respective races, and he was to later in the year set the European Record over the distance of 4:!
