Argentina: Raging wildfires in Patagonia kill dozens of animals *DISTRESSING CONTENT*

Unprecedented wildfires continued ravaging Chubut Province, burning nearly 90,000 hectares of the Argentinian Patagonia and dozens of local animals, as seen on Wednesday. The blaze reduced the population of many native animals of the territory, including guanacos, choiques (Darwin’s rheas), horses and others. Some of the animals were seen trapped in the fences separating a local farm, in a bid to save themselves and their calves from death. The fire began on Sunday around 15 kilometres north of the city of Puerto Madryn, along National Route 3.
