National Anthem of the Netherlands - “Het Wilhelmus“ (The William) Includes lyrics in both Dutch and English. Viewers please note that “Duitsen“ has been translated as “Dutch“. There is some debate over the intention of the lyricist, with suggestions that “German“ or “Germanic“ may be more appropriate equivalents, or that there is no modern English word that can properly convey its meaning. This channel prefers the translation provided in the video as one which perhaps better represents the spirit of the anthem and the iconic status of William of Orange in Dutch history.
