The large macrophage cell rapidly recognises and engulfs three lymphoma cells (the small, circular cells), working to protect healthy cells from cancer cells. Nanoliveโ€™s refractive index imaging shows the macrophage cell membrane reaching out and contacting the lymphoma cells before beginning phagocytosis.
