[JP] DFFOO: Gains is Always The Way (Shiva Spiritus)
I’m back after attempting to cut down my video game backlog lol
This fight is awesome. It’s very mechanic heavy and also has HP Gates to force you to see certain mechanics. Both bosses have about 220m HP, so it’s a decent chunk to go through but DPS won’t be an overall problem.

At the start of the fight, 59%, and 29% triggered individually, both bosses will randomly target 1 party member with a ST Atk that will petrify for 1 turn. This is an aura debuff, so you cannot use Debuff Immunity or Raijin LDCA to avoid it. The only way to avoid this is to dodge the attack, otherwise you’ll have to deal with it.
The bosses are health-gated at 89%.
At 89%, you will be able to lower their hp down to 69% (nice).
At 89%, they will gain a red aura. This aura has various colors and is stack based which will give them a plethora of bonuses.
White (1 stack): No Effect
Blue (2 stacks): KO Immunity
Yellow (3 stacks): Brv Barrier Shield (like Zack’s)
Red (4 stacks): Can inflict true damage (like Leo effect)
The stacks will increase by 1 whenever one of the bosses acts (and it will increase for both bosses at the same time).
During this, the stacks will decrease by 1 if you attack the bosses while they have an Attack-type imperil.
At 69%, the aura will go away and you will be able to lower their HP to 49%. The bosses will also deal less HP Dmg to your party as a “reward” for making it this far.
At 49%, you can lower their HP to 19% and they will gain the red aura once again. The auras’ effects are the same however, the conditions to lower the aura stacks change.
To reduce the stacks by 1, you must inflict ALL 3 attack type imperils AND do defense-ignoring damage.
The stacks will also increase by 1 if anyone in your party has a buff/overhead thats at 5 stacks or higher.
Lastly, if they have a red aura, then their AoE attack will WIPE your party.
At 29%, the aura will cancel. The bosses will also gain additional brv gain reduction (lmao) and raise their defenses drastically.
At 19%, they will grant themselves the red aura one last time with the same decrease conditions as the 49% threshold. Remember that their blue aura prevents them from getting killed, so you MUST reduce their aura stacks to white aura in order to kill.
If you use a level 50 summon, then the first person to attack in the summon will decrease the bosses’ stacks regardless of whether or not it’s a Def-ignoring one, resulting in a double decrease). This is because the summon’s attack (which is Def-ignoring) and the attack of the first person in the phase are considered the “same action” which tricks the game into thinking the character did a Def-ignoring attack.

Force Gauge Notes
The bosses force gauge increases faster than usual.
Additionally all non-water/ice elemental attacks will gain an additional 80% Brv dmg reduction
The bosses have 2 different force abilities:
If they have an attack-type weakness imperil, it will be a basic AoE HP Attack.
Otherwise, the force ability will inflict 1 random person with petrification.
The enemy’s force time lasts 20 turns. Your party’s Max Brv will be heavily reduced to the point where it’ll reach 0, and the bosses will recover HP on their turns.
To cancel their force time, use an FR ability that deals Defense-ignoring damage (such as Raines or Beatrix).
