Kreisler: Tempo Di Minuetto by David Garrett

12th November 2022 Fritz Kreisler (1875–1962) Many of his works are known as “pastiches,” works composed in the styles of other composers. Kreiser wrote Tempo di Minuetto in the style of Gaetano Pugnani. You may know that Kreisler also composed his well-known Praeludium and Allegro in the style of this eighteenth-century Italian composer/violinist. he admitted “Arranged by Kreisler“ pieces are actually mostly his own composed. As for the reason, he replied to a journalist of New York Times, “The audience would get bored if I only wrote my own works, and other violinists wouldn’t be able to play the works with my name on them. That’s why I borrowed other people’s names.“
