To test designs of new Apollo spacesuits, and to understand the types of tasks that astronauts could perform in low or zero gravity, a large neutral buoyancy tank was employed. This film shows SCUBA divers and a test subject in a spacesuit in the tank, negotiating using handholds on a grid which is made up of hexagons. (Note: the grid is a bit hard to see in the film). Similar grid-like structures were used aboard the Skylab space station.
