Forgotten Sword (Russia) — Last Krieg Against Existence — 2021 full length

The first black metal release from this DS act. While most of the melody’s inner structure is black metal, there are some tracks that deviate completely from the melodic-lofi path. It has the great instrumental and vocal work as before, but with a wider range. There are sections or whole tracks that crevasses appear, turning the melody much slower and with prolonged vocals or synths, allowing these doom metal patterns to set. Of course, the listener is always reminded either by the percussion or the mighty vocals that this is a black metal record. But still there is the fourth track that is ferociously played in a blackened doom standard, and it connects nicely, probably the one which best mixes those elements especially as the song reaches the end. Following that, to my complete amazement, appears a dark ambient song, often quite drony and dissonant. Only after this, on the last two tracks there is a comeback to black metal or something close to it as the closing song is a pure instrumental one, a beautiful
