I’m finally back! It’s so nice to be home and have a little more freedom now, although it’s not fully back yet! As some of you may know, I have something called Chiari Malformation, where my brain was too large for my skull, causing a ton of other medical. For me, it caused neurological and balance issues as well as speech challenges. The pain was so bad that everyone felt this surgery, as risky as it was, may be our best bet for the best quality of life. Going into the surgery, we knew there were chances that were scary with me possibly becoming paralyzed, needing blood transfusions, or even coming out in a coma but none of that happened, I came out fighting and strong! 24 hours after my first 5 hour surgery, I needed to go back into the OR because my screw had been placed wrong and was moving. None of the braces fit my little neck so it was decided that the Halo was the best way to go in terms of recovery. My Ehlers Danlos and POTS acted up a little but we got it under control. I wen
