SREDNEOKHTINSKY PROSPEKT (Middle Okhta Avenue) in St Petersburg, Russia. Putin’s House in 1980’s

Sredneokhtinsky Prospekt (Middle Okhta Avenue) is the avenue in Krasnogvardeysky district of St Petersburg (the historic area of Okhta). It goes from Red Guardy Square (Krasnogvardeyskaya Square) to Aprelskaya street. Historically, it was the area settled down with a carpenters who were coming from all over Russia to work in St Petersburg. But the largest development this area got in the late 1940’s-1950’s when it was build up with mostly the “Stalinist” neoclassical residential buildings. Krasnogvardeyskaya Ploschad (Red Guardy Square), Georgievsky Garden, Georg Ots Square. Children’s and Youth’s Creativity Center where in 1980’s was a studio of Andrey Tropillo, where he recorded a big part of the Victor Tsoy and Kino band music. Buiding 42 is one of the places where Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, lived since 1987. #stpetersburg #russia #ussr
