In this talk my guest, Dr. Binoy Kampmark, explains how and why western imperial designs are trying to bring down one of the pillars of the international operating system. Dr Binoy Kampmark is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies at Australia’s RMIT University, where he researchers the interconnection of law, international relations and history. In one of his projects, he traces the evolution of the “rogue state” discourse in American political debate. Since recently the “Axis of Evil” trope has reappeared in popular media, I thought this is the perfect time to talk to Binoy about the US labelling of its adversaries and what that means socially and legally.
