This week saw the unveiling of Ursula von der Leyen’s new cabinet of commissioners, which has caused analysts to liken the notorious EU chief to an empress. Meanwhile, the Dutch right-wing government tried putting out an ambitious new plan to halt asylum migration into the Netherlands, which was stopped by the EU. And lastly, the Israeli operation against Hezbollah in Lebanon with exploding electronics sparks much debate.
