STUNNING Micro Swipe Fish! Ocean Acrylic Pour Painting

Attention ocean lovers! Today I want to show you how to paint a super cute butterflyfish using fluid paint. I made it as a companion piece to my seahorse painting (video here: I’m a scuba diver as well as a painter, so naturally I love bringing ocean creatures into my paintings when possible. This technique was inspired by a photo of a seahorse I found online with no artist credit - I couldn’t find a video or any details so I had to figure it out myself! I’m working on a 16x20” canvas. A “Micro Swipe” is similar to a ghost swipe technique, but it uses silicone oil to create cells. Generally small, flexible swipers are used, though you can use putty knives, palette knives, or bits of paper towel to create a similar effect.
