DAAU Into The Wild

DAAU // DIE ANARCHISTISCH ABENDUNTERHALTUNG live @ Kortrijk Congé in 2010. This modest annual outdoor event on the Buda Island in the middle of the beautiful medieval Flemish city of Kortrijk originally celebrated the summer solstice (Noche de San Juan/ Sint Jan’s / St. Jean) with good music, dance & drink. DAAU started their performance at dawn ( /- am). One neighbour did not seem to appreciate being woken up by DAAU’s tunes and pulled the plug near the end of the performance, so the band had to finish their set in an acoustic modus. After that, band and audience went for breakfast at long tables along the riverside, where everyone indulged in the regional specialty of Pistolékes with cheese & ham, and obviously coffee. Black. No sugar.
