NHS junior doctors are engaged in strikes again, while the government comes up with excuses not to negotiate. But against a background of already severe shortages, and NHS staff leaving for better paid work elsewhere, if these strikes don’t result in better pay, then the already weakened NHS will find itself in a much worse position next year.
