AFLMȘMP - Îmi Plăceau Mai Mult Înainte

”Îmi Plăceau Mai Mult Înainte”, recorded in the Carpathian Mountains (Holbav, Romania), consists of 4 new songs written after the 2022 release of La Vale. The material showcased in the half-hour session hints at the stylistic trajectory that we have been outlining in recent years, marking a shift towards a more aggressive sound and aiming, as always, towards honest musical expression instead of a meticulously choreographed demonstration. While the names of the songs may sound serious, and at times melancholic, they are, in reality, word-for-word translations of common Romanian sayings and expressions that lose all meaning upon translation, keeping our tradition of giving songs nonsensical names very much alive. The location serves as a long-anticipated acknowledgement of the picturesque intimation our name conveys - I Went To The Mountains And I Liked It. The name of this session, Îmi Plăceau Mai Mult Înainte (I Liked Them Better Before) is a nod to our origins but also to what it feels like to shift our weight from one musical leg to another.
