This is a great drill to use early in practice to work on breakouts, neutral zone counters against the trap and neutral zone defense.
🔹DESCRIPTION:
Coach chips a puck deep and the first group breaks out without pressure. After the puck moves over the center red line, forwards turn back and chip the puck behind their D men to start an counter against the next line of players that set up an defense. After gaining the red line, the attacking team chips it deep and changes and the defenders now break out.
🔹KEYPOINTS:
D men move up quickly after a breakout so they have to turn to retrieve the puck after the puck is chipped behind them.
Game Speed and vary the break-out options.
