Genocide charges ‘meritless’ but Israel must take tough decisions for peace, Blinken says

Charges of genocide brought against Israel at the International Court of Justice over its campaign in Gaza are “meritless“, Antony Blinken has said. However, the US secretary of state went on to say that if Israel wants to achieve lasting peace with the Palestinian people, it would need to take tough decisions. Mr Blinken made the comments after meeting with Israeli political leaders at the end of a multi-day tour of the region.
