Kokiriko-Japan’s oldest folk song (J-Hoppers Video Tour)

Kokiriko is reportedly Japan’s oldest folk song since the 15th century . This video was taken at Hakusan Shrine in Gokayama Region, Toyama Pref. There were an autumn festival at the shrine and the music and dance are performed in front of the main shrine The Ainokura and Suganuma Village in Gokayama are designated as one of the World Heritage sites for the unique traditional style houses as well as Shirakawago Village.
