💀 MARDU GORYO’S | Cheesing in Obzedat and Griselbrand! 【 MTG Modern 】

Today we are checking out a Mardu Goryo’s Obzedat Reanimator deck that user CHAR_AZNABLE took to a 5-0 finish in an MTGO Modern League. The plan of the deck is to use either Goryo’s Vengeance or Footsteps of the Goryo to cheat a Griselbrand into play and draw a bunch of cards, but actually more importantly, you can cheat an Obzedat Ghost Council into play. Obzedat has a trigger at the end step to make it exile itself so that it can return with haste at your next upkeep. However, our Goryo’s cards also have a trigger at the end step which either make you exile or sacrifice the reanimated creature so you don’t get to keep it, but with Obzedat’s trigger going on the stack at the same time, we can exploit the system and resolve Obzedat’s trigger first so we get to keep a free Obzedat.
