Newport Tea Table Building Process handmade by Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers

This video shows the making of a Tea Table that is reproduced from an original piece made by the Townsend Goddard family in Newport, Rhode Island in circa 1750. THis tea table is made of solid mahogany. The cabriole legs with slipper feet are shaped by hand, the molding is carved and shaped to match the original profile and the top is hand planed smooth before finish. At Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers we make fine handmade custom and Antique Reproduction. We use the finest hardwoods available today combined with a meticulous attention to details and overall quality. Together these elements make a future family heirloom that can be used and enjoyed for generations to come. Contact us for more information.
